Sherilee Portela

I have a BCOM degree in finance and have been in the corporate environment for my entire working life. In my spare time I am my friends' unofficial group holiday and event planner. I then upgraded from small holidays to planning weddings (starting with my own). This was the first time I realised how good I am at making a vision become reality, baring in mind I only had a month to do it. I absolutely loved planning every little detail, I organised the accommodation for guests, planned the timeline for the day, found caterers, décor hire, shuttle services, flowers, bridesmaids gift boxes, make up and hair etc. I had so much fun and it was a huge success - the guests enjoyed the finer details and danced the night away.

After planning a friend's wedding I was hooked! I decided to take a leap of faith and struck out on my own as an event planner, and I have loved every minute since! My corporate background helps with the organisation side, my creativity has been let loose with all the design and décor work involved and I absolutely love having happy clients.
